Mexico has a national copper fair and it is held in the magic town of Michoacan, Santa Clara del Cobre.
The dates on which this event is usually held are at the end of july.

The fair is always accompanied by 2 very important events: the election of the hammered copper queen and the contest of the copper hammer.

The purepechas in this locality already realized smithworks with copper hammering technique since prehispanic times. The way it’s done, is with synchronized people hammering the hot red metal over a anvil, giving it form little by little, this way there are done sculptures, ornamentals, artistic containers and even practical objects for commerce and home.

It’s important to recognize that Santa Clara copper is, at national level, the most important copper provider, and that also is home of the national copper museum.
This fair offers authentic handicrafts at accessible prices, giving it a characteristic and unique seal of guarantee that every article is elaborated by mexican artisan. Some handicrafts made with copper are plates, pots, spoons, ornamental figures, cups, earrings, drawers, lamps, doors, knobs, flowerpots, jewelry and a lot more
